I am a father, a husband, a son and a brother… I am a writer, a professional, a youth advocate and a mentor. I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and graduated from the School of Hard Knocks at the age of 21… I gave myself the gift of clarity, focus and the gift of life by moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1993. I am the first Puerto Rican to have a memoir published with a major publishing house (Simon & Schuster) about growing up in New York in the 80’s and 90’s. I am one of the first Puerto Ricans in 40 years (since Piri Thomas) to share my experiences growing up in El Barrio, Nueva York… Sometimes we don’t like to look ourselves in the mirror because we don’t like what’s looking back at us. I choose to look past the mirror and delve deep into our history to educate others that we don’t have to lose at this game called life… We Latinos are passionate people and we can use that passion to be victorious in life! I am here to spread that message to the world…

I’m obsessed with awakening the minds of those who don’t see the self-destructive ways with which we live. I’m obsessed with making a change in this world reminiscent of those made by Dr. Martin Luther King… I always choose peace first but I can take it to the streets reminiscent of Malcolm X if I believe the ends justify the means. I’m obsessed with fearing God not man and that allows me to be brutally honest even if the cost is my life! I can’t live without my children because every sacrifice I make everyday of my life since January 31, 1992 has been for my children. I can’t live without my family… they are my strength when I am at my most weak. I can’t live without good people doing good things… Without them this world would be 99.9% evil and I’d be alone…
