When you’re the lead guitarist in Latin America’s biggest band, female adoration is a given. Well, Maná’s Sergio Vallín returns the love with his soon-to-be released concept album Bendito Entre Las Mujeres (Blessed Among the Women). The album features an eclectic collection of Latin music’s feminine voices including Natalia Jimenez (La 5a Estación), Joy Huerta (Jesse & Joy), Ely Guerra and many more.

Various reports are saying Shakira will drop a new single this month and a new album later on. And boy am I ehhh! Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Shak Attack but reports also say the single will be available in both English and Spanish. Gag! Why do great/good Latin artists feel obligated to record in English? Yes, I know Shakira is a huge pop star now but her tunes still and will forever sound better in Spanish.  Just peep the videos below and tell me which lengua your favorite singer should stick to?

5. Julieta Venegas will not perform but Paulina Rubio will. La Chica Dorada is great to look at but to listen to (live) not so much. But hey at least Pau is a better singer than Beyoncè.

Shakira dumps her loser beau Antonio de la Rua and lands a Colombian college professor.

Psych! Happy April Fool’s Day, mi gente. De La Rua has a powerful macumba on Shak; she isn’t going anywhere. Below are a bunch of faux Latino musician stories—which I wish weren’t.

Uno,

Jesus
