As I reported early in the season, America's Next Top Model finally jumped on the average height bandwagon Sí TV started with Model Latina. We've always known short girls are hot, but Tyra's made it mainstream, choosing the 5' 6" Eva Pigford back in cycle three then making it mandatory to be 5' 7" or under in cycle 13.

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Model Latina Season 1 winner Jessica Caban on the latest billboard for fine French cognac Rémy Martin. I was on my way to a Dia De Los Muertos event in East L.A. last night and caught sight of Jessica on a huge billboard in a red ruffle dress. She looks gorgeous! Jessica will grace billboards in North, South and Central America, as well as the Caribbean. Look out!

Jessica Caban, our very first Model Latina, is steady hustlin' modeling gigs. I recently spotted her in three pages of the Aug./Sept. issue of Complex magazine.

Latinas from all over the country were inspired by last year's launch of Sí TV's reality show Model Latina. Not only did it provide a missing platform for aspiring Latina models, but it proved women of curves and color can rock clothes and a runway just as good as any 6-foot guera. It was refreshing to watch a house full of chicas on national TV compete for a Q Management modeling contract, $10,000, and a feature in Latina magazine.
