Don OmarPOSTED June, 24 2009 ![]() I told y’all the ladies of Model Latina Miami mean business. Emeraude, one of the finest contestants, scored a lead role in Marcy Place’s “Dame Un Chance (Nena)” music video. Marcy Place is a bachata trio who actually don’t spend five hours trimming their eyebrows. Crazy right? Anyway, Emeraude looks ravishing in this clip and she didn’t even have to wear booty shorts!

POSTED June, 15 2009 Sí TV was waving the Puerto Rican flag this weekend in support of our beloved boricua hermanos y hermanas. Our gente were on location producing a show (y’all know soon enough) at Saturday’s 116th Street Festival in Manhattan, which is the pre-party to the big Puerto Rican Day Parade the following day. Check out the slideshow below where you’ll find Latin music superstar Don Omar and our very first Model Latina—Jessica Caban.
POSTED June, 08 2009 ![]() If you’re in Nueva York this week, well, you must know the Puerto Rican Day Parade is hitting the streets on Sunday (6/14). In honor of my boricua hermanos I’ll bring you some interviews with a few of music’s most talented Puerto Rocks. First up, Arcangel told me, “If I don’t go to the Puerto Rican Day Parade there ain’t no parade.” With that said, the half-bori also picked his favorite Puerto Rican artists.
POSTED May, 11 2009 ![]() N.O.R.E. is one of rap’s most hilarious characters. A few years ago he was also one of reggaeton’s staunch supporters and artists. Critics said the Queens, NY-bred MC was jumping on the bandwagon. Yet, I wasn’t one of them. I reviewed Nore’s reggaeton album, N.O.R.E. y la Familia...Ya Tú Sabe, for Vibe magazine and gave it a 3.5 out of 5. It was a good album not just for a rapper-turned-reggaetonero but for any reggaetonero. I also witnessed Nore’s passion for Latin music and Latinos firsthand.
POSTED April, 28 2009 ![]() Today, Don Omar, one of the best reggaetoneros, releases his latest album iDon. In honor of iDon, let’s look back on the different personas Don has assumed during his life.
POSTED April, 02 2009 ![]() I know, I know I’m a tad late on these new videos by Daddy Yankee and Don Omar but to my surprise I actually enjoyed both. Plus, word on the cyber streets is that they’re working on a couple of collabos. Beef? Que beef?
POSTED April, 01 2009 ![]() Shakira dumps her loser beau Antonio de la Rua and lands a Colombian college professor. Psych! Happy April Fool’s Day, mi gente. De La Rua has a powerful macumba on Shak; she isn’t going anywhere. Below are a bunch of faux Latino musician stories—which I wish weren’t.
POSTED January, 22 2009 ![]() Don Omar is hoping his Midas touch extends beyond himself (he nabbed Jackie Guerrido for God’s sake). He signed bachata/pop group Marcy Place, comprised of brothers Joey, Billy and producer JC, to his Orfanato Music Group.
POSTED January, 06 2009 ![]() Possibly the only reggaetonero who still interests me is Don Omar. Duke continues to release good music and is married to a dime and a half of a mujer in Jackie Guerrido. Word is he’s presently in the studio working on his next album, iDon, which is to be release April 21st. Not only is DO a down-to-Earth type of person but he also a savvy businessman. He recently introduced Marcy’s Place, a bachata trio to rival Aventura, and they don’t sound half bad. Stay tuned for an exclusive Q&A with them.
