The most intriguing aspect for me was the video model in it. Her name is Sophia Marie and she’s a lovely Latina. Funny story, I actually met with Sophia during my days as an EIC of a men’s magazine. She was the Latina next door type of model with a cute personality.

Whether it’s gossip sites linking her to mega-producer/singer/songwriter The Dream or allegedly battling for beats with Teairra Marí (“Diamonds”), Milian’s name unfortunately stays in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. You sometimes forget she’s actually a talented and attractive (we never forget that actually) singer. Well, in our chat she let her creative side free and leaves all the bochinche behind sorta. Nick Cannon helping his wife Mariah Carey on her new album is like Carlos Mencia helping Dave Chappelle on he new routine. Alas, (according to the cyber streets) Nicky is co-writing a track with his beloved cougar—“Cat Got Your Tongue” could be the name. It got me thinking about untalented fools who were either married or dated a successful Latina musician. OK, am I a bit of a Christina Milian Stan? Yes, but I had to post this blazing cover she just did for (one of my favorite mags) KING. She graces the lad magazine’s 50th issue and looks hella fine doing so. In actual music news, Willie Colon, one of my favorite musicians of all time, released his first album in a decade. El Malo, Vol. 2: Prisioneros del Mambo is a mix of salsa, plena, bomba, and son tinged with his sociopolitical lyrics. Today, Sports Illustrated revealed the 2009 cover girl for the annual Swimsuit Issue—Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli. That’s cool: she’s hot, dates Leonardo DiCaprio, and—if you’ve seen the cover—really knows how to wear a bikini. Christina Milian’s new music video for “Us Against the World” is a pre-teen boy’s dream. It’s basically her in a desert in about four different outfits. Don’t worry fellas, one of them is a bathing suit. It’s a nice little ditty but the video accentuates C. Mil’s beauty. The clip is ruined about three minutes into it, when a male model comes and starts caressing Christina. Rewind! See for yourself below. My favorite Christina (sorry Aguilera) is prepping for a big 2009. But before she does so, she recently vented about her ex’s (Nick Cannon) recent wedding vows to Mariah Carey. |
