I was pleasantly surprised to go to an Avon-style cosmetics party and a.) not be pressured in to buying ish I don't need b.) not get made up to look like Lady Gaga and c.) get my lips read by one of the top psychics in the U.S. The real Zana Cosmetics draw is the girls night-themed party!

Sorry I've been away for so long. I didn't want to blog goodbye—I knew I'd eventually come back—but my focus here at Sí TV has shifted from fashion to Model Latina Miami. Therefore my style musings have taken a back seat. With all the good fashion right now I just couldn't go another day without a blog about it. Below, I've listed a few of my favorite things.

Wouldn't it be nice to be on vacation all the time? Liza + Tara Resort Wear makes you feel like you are. It's pretty obvious where the 26-year-old designers, half Cubana Liza Lamar and best friend Tara Kunkel, draw inspiration for their lightweight tropical colored tunics and mini dresses; they live on Key Biscayne, an island off the coast of Miami. Chicana Style caught up with Lamar to talk island life fashion.

In solidarity with gente marching for immigrant rights and immigration reform, Chicana Style collected images taken from all over the world of people honoring May Day aka International Workers' Day.

Why am I the last to know super funky and always over-the-top designer Betsey Johnson makes computer bags? My boo dragged me into Best Buy this weekend to get even for the marathon thrift store shopping spree I took him on and not only did I discover vinyl made a comeback and there's yet another book about Kurt Cobain out, but Betsey Johnson designs some really cool computer bags!

Latinas from all over the country were inspired by last year's launch of Sí TV's reality show Model Latina. Not only did it provide a missing platform for aspiring Latina models, but it proved women of curves and color can rock clothes and a runway just as good as any 6-foot guera. It was refreshing to watch a house full of chicas on national TV compete for a Q Management modeling contract, $10,000, and a feature in Latina magazine.
