50 cent

It’s finally here: Wisin y Yandel featuring 50 Cent “Mujeres en el Club.” The video is directed by frequent WYY/50 collaborator and Sí TV friend Jessy Terrero. I’d be the first to admit that I was a bit skeptical about this collabo but the video comes off nicely. At times it does seem like it’s a movie dubbed in Spanish for HBO Latino but in general it’s catchy, visually attractive (pause) and current.

50 Cent is on the boricua jock. Since, rap music (or any type of music for that matter) is suffering right now the Queens MC is trying to diversify his artistic collabos. Hence, 50 is working with reggaeton powerhouse Wisin y Yandel on their new album Revolución due out May 26th. WYY also have Sean Paul, Ednita Nazario, Enrique Iglesias and Ivy Queen on their upcoming opus.

I’ve been a strong advocate of Massachusetts MC Termanology. I’m definitely not alone.  The half-bori was recently interviewed by Talib Kweli on his site (check here). Talib has some experience as a pen-pusher (he interviewed 50 Cent a few years back) and turns out a good read. Below are some highlights.

Tru-Life is a rapper? Yea, a pretty decent one too. But if you thought he just a street cat who liked to pick on studio gangsta rappers than you wouldn’t be wrong either. Just a few years ago he was Jay-Z’s secret Latino weapon, released a dope mixtape and was throwing NY rap on his back. Now XXL Mag is asking where duke is. Well, my homies at xxlmag.com found him.
