Fellas, how many times have you told your girl you couldn't hang out, cause you were too tired… and yet somehow you mysteriously mustered up enough energy to end up in a club surrounded by sexy, single, independent, scarletts poppin' bottles, knowing damn well you don't even have enough money to buy your own baby's bottles!! I won’t mention any names…ehem Latin Daddy (cough)…

Sometimes dudes like to think they're getting over on us girls…Little do they know…

    That's right…So next time you think you're slick…Think again!!

I agree with being socially responsible. At the same time we can’t waste all of our time putting up red flags for the wrong things. The clip was meant to be taken lighthearted, this was not meant to be something deep. There are so many issues to be concerned about more than a comedy clip. To all the armchair revolutionaries, If you’re really serious about being a revolutionary, you need to focus on the real issues that really are affecting our society today, such as immigration laws (to name one of many), and do something about it, cause you can't fight the war sitting down. "Si se puede!!" (Speaking of which, here are a few pictures I took on the "National Day of Action for Immigrant Justice”)…

That weekend I hosted the Times Square Comedy Jump Off…For my opening I marched on stage with my protest signs, and my dominican flag, and spoke my views on it. Don't be so quick to judge, especially if you haven't been to any of our shows. The show before that was hosted by La Bruja, one of the most influential latinas of our time.To me there will always be a funny and ironic side to everything…That's a part of life.

What kind of world would we live in if we can't be humorous? That you can’t take a break and laugh at yourself. You mean to tell me “In Living Color” wasn’t okay to laugh at, because it wasn’t considered socially responsible. What if “In Living Color” was shut down? Then there’d be no Jamie Fox, no “Ray”, no Jim Carey, no “Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind”, no Wayans, no Rosie Perez, no Jlo!!

We went out there to find funny footage… We didn’t bait these people, they all chose to be on camera, we gave them the mic and they just ran with it…It’s on them how they chose to represent themselves on film. Its not like we told them to get drunk, get high, or slap asses. Those are all real people, not actors,  that’s reality…You can’t be no more offended by our comedy, than whats really going on (sound familiar?)…We were observing and we were filming. You didn’t expect us to go out filming a comedy dvd, posing political, social, & economic questions?

I'm sorry that you took offense to the clip. I am Dominican, and I do love and support my culture and my heritage. It's unfortunate that you chose to highlight such a small part of all the other things that I've done. If you and I want to get together and do some community outreach, I would be more than happy to, because I take pride in being latina.  I am thankful of this blog to share my comedic perspective in this world. I know that you can't please everyone, but it's the people who enjoy comedy that I'm reaching out to.That's what makes this world so beautiful, that we all have different perspectives, and opinions.

No matter which way you look at it, not everyone will agree with what you do. Someone will always find something offensive, and that’s cool, cause everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it makes you just as ignorant to call someone “ignorant” just because they don’t agree with your views…Don’t you think that’s being a bit of a hipocrit?

    Richard Pryor

    Take Richard Pryor,

A lot of people didn’t agree with his comedy and found it offensive. However there were those that found it funny. So just like Richard Pryor and all the great comedians, there will be those who get offended, the haters, the people who didn’t get it, and then there will be those that understand what comedy is about…

(P.S.~Are you paying royalties to his family, his estate or to pryor planet? If you're making money using his image, and his words. Isn't that considered exploitation?)

Nore's latest music video entitled Cocaine Cowboys was recently banned when posted on the his Myspace page, a video he made following the movie. Nore himself was not banned from the website but his video was taken down for failing to comply with the site's "Terms and Conditions." According to the agreement, MySpace has the right to take down footage that "may be offensive, illegal, or violate the rights, harm, or threaten the safety of any person." But being we do what we want….. Here you go ladies and gents…..

This year was the 50th anniversary of the Puerto Rican Day Parade, so you know we had to do it big this year. We ate some good Spanish food, saw some beautiful Latinas, and kicked it with some of our reggaetón buddies while we walked up 5th Avenue. Tego, Wisen y Yandel, Zion, Notch, Arcangel and many more celebs showed up. Make sure to keep a look out for our ‘On The Up’ Coverage of the parade.
