A nation in distress united by the beautiful game called soccer. IRAQ is the new champion of the Asian cup and its nice to know that the IRAQI people can smile for something. I found it very interesting that after winning the championship game the head coach resigned, some players chose not to return to Iraq and others took advantage of the moment to share to the world how they feel about the war. After the game, Mahmoud the team captain called for the United States to withdraw its troops from his nation. "I want America to go out," he said. "Today, tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, but out. I wish the American people didn't invade Iraq and, hopefully, it will be over soon." Mahmoud also said he will not return to Iraq to celebrate. "I don't want the Iraqi people to be angry with me," he said. "If I go back with the team, anybody could kill me or try to hurt me." Vieira the head coach who is Brazilian, resigned after the game. "I have worked my best to give happiness to the Iraqi people, to bring a warm smile to their lips and my mission is accomplished," Vieira said. "The satisfaction is doubled when you can get this cup and you bring happiness for a country, not just a team. It's more important than anything."

B-Side players are back from L.A.M.C. and they had their CD Release party last night at the Key Club. I was a little bummed out for a second  when I found out my party pooper friends eight and cakes didn't want  to go me :  /  so I made some new friends and went with out them : P The show was hosted by Mark Torres from KPFK and they had many DJ's from LIttle Temple. The Key Club was packed and B Side had an amazing show they rocKED the house, the crowd was none stop moving. When B SIde played one of my favorite songs from "Nuestras Demandas" they had special guest Akwid on stage with them, it was pretty cool, you could tell it was not planned out but it was cool it seemed and felt real, Also Quetzal from the band Quetzal was a special guest and that was cool as well. I have some video footage of the ending of the show, the sound quality is bad but its a small teaser of what happen.

So I am back from San Francisco and let me tell you it was really fun. My hotel room was da bomb, my bed & pillows were so soft, I can't get over it : P (Thanks MT) but It was Major League Baseball ALL Star Week so the city was packed with tourist, it was great. Anyways I was attending a Voto Latino Fundraiser and I was also part of a VL meeting that took place Wed morning. In that meeting I got to meet Rosario Dawson which was really cool, because I didn't even know she was going to be part of it. also got to meet Rita Moreno and SF Mayor Gavin at the VL Fundraiser, so that was also very cool. So here are a couple of photos of the VL event at the roof top of the Clift Hotel.

So I am here in San Francisco, and early in the morning I checked the bigsoccer.com site like I do all the time and to my surprise many messages have been posted on how the LA Galaxy has release the new jersey.  So I keep reading and looking at photos fans that fans are uploading of themselves with there new jersey and I start feeling like I should get one too. So decide that I cannot wait to fly back to LA and then buy one. I walk to downtown San Francisco to the Westfield San Francisco Centre ( amazing mall I was like WOW) and my great luck is with me because the first store I see is the Adidas store and inside well I'll just let the photos speak for themselves. ………and yes I did get one :  )

Not a big fan of David Beckham and really not a big fan of the new jersey but a HUGE fan the LA Galaxy and this new commercial by ESPN makes me happy, I'm excited now. Now I just have to get my tickets :  )
