Last nite was the premiere of David Axelrod's movie of a live show he filmed in jolly old London.
David has produced over 500 albums in the last 40 years. He is one of the best producers/arrangers around.
He is also a funny old man as I came to find out at the Q & A after the movie. People like Rhettmatic were asking
him about his work and what he thought of sampling. David, in so many words, likes sampling…it's a good pay day for him.

The movie showed at the famous Egyptian theater in Hollywood. All the hipsters were there, along with the crate diggers, local producers, and music heads. As you can see below…

JRocc was also present to provide some tunes afterwards. All records he chose were by David.

Of course you can't have one of these events without THe Hit + Run Crew. I see them everywhere these days! Anyways, they were there printing up shirts on the spot for a 20.

-Recworm would like to thank Cecilia Jurado for the pictures and words from this event. You can check her website out at www.cthomashandbags.com.

Late night at LACMA is back and with a vengeance..Dan Flavin's artwork will be on display. His minimalist art with flourescent lights is the exhibit. For the music, DJ Steve Aoki, Ima Robot, The Rebirth and more will be providing the sounds. There will be interactive murals by Ronald Kurniawan, film projections and more. For it's first weekend, LACMA is making it free to all who RSVP. IF you have never been to one of the best museums in the west coast, this is good time to start. I know this thing goes until 2 am, but its best to get there early or be ready to line up

Premiering at the Egyptian Theater this Monday, David Axelrod is one of the greatest producers of funk, jazz, and soul records in the 60's and 70's. You have probably already heard some of his work sampled by LBoogie, Wu-Tang, and Dr. Dre.

There are still some tickets left. Contact the Egyptian for more info. Don't miss out on this once in a lifetime event for all you music heads!

Check these pictures I took from the Kettle and Keg in Fullerton from last Sunday:

I was running sound for J-Ross Perrelli & Tulasi. I made sure they sounded good during their set, which is not hard at all when dealling with talented musicians.

Its all outside under the stars giving it that backyard party feel that California is famous for.

    Mr. Kees

famous reggae drummer/dj Mr. Kees (Big Time Tune Sound) kept things moving and on time.

    "What a character!"

Theres nothing better than live reggae outside filling the area with positive vibes.
