Afterwork Tuesdays at da Copa!
Author: FYIrisyeah it's Tuesday…still the begining of the week…ugh…you would think that I should be a good girl and go to the gym then straight to bed…. BUT NOOOOOOO, NOT ME! My Girlfriend Joanne called me and was having a rough day, so being the loyal friend I am, I rounded up the troops and to THE COPACABANA we went! Tally-Hoo!!!
My 3 girls and I headed to da Copa's dressed in our best for Afterwork Tuesdays. They have free salsa lessons at 6pm and then the party begins! We all met up in midtown and had dinner first so we didn't make it for the salsa class….but we made it for the tequilla shots!
My three chicas are going to regret this tomorrow!! It's FREAKIN TUESDAY GUYS!!!
I love going to the Copa! This was my first time actually going during the week, I'm usually the Saturday night crowd but it goes to show that in New York, it really doesn't matter what day of the week it is…there is always a reason to dance your ass off! The Copa is really a great place for everyone that likes Latin music like Salsa, Merengue and Batchata but don't get it twisted, this place has 2 levels so if you go downstairs its all hip-hop and reggaeton. We mainly hung out in the hip-hop room danced, drank (water and juice duh!) then chilled out and gossiped.
I've never really gone out on a Tuesday to a club but from what i saw…people really like going out! I couldn't believe all the clubbers that were out partying on a tuesday! it was insane! The crowd was definately the "i work in the city and i'm young enough to pull this off" crowd. One thing is for sure, I really wish they turned up the AC cuz it was hot as hell in that room and it's really hard trying to be cute dancing with your friends when you have to not only deal with getting all hot but also sweaty ass guys (with nasty sweats stains!) trying to get all up on you and dance with you! UGH! There should be a sign somewhere in all clubs that prohibit that! I'm writing a letter to someone! Anyways…My girls and I weren't really focused on who was there, we were kinda just concentrating on cheering Joanne up and having a blast.
I have to tell you that after all that dancing, laughing, and of course buying my girl some refreshments Joanne was in a better mood and thanked me for looking out and arranging an emergency girls night out!

PS - my plan was to get home at 12…yeah…didn't get home till 2:00am I have to get up at 6am!
PSS - I wrote this at 2:33am
PSSS- i'm going STILL going to work tomorrow…hung over…with a sweatshirt and a hat on all day…AND I'M NOT TAKING A SHOWER! HA! damn the man!
See you at the next Fiesta!

Hittin Da Streets on St. Patty’s Day - NYC Pub Crawl
Author: FYIrisThe New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade is the world’s largest parade. Mayor Bloomberg was seen marching in the streets of New York with nearly 150,000 others proudly wearing the green, as millions gawk along the parade route and watch on TV. Yeah I know what your thinking…Why would a Latina be at a parade dedicated to the Irish? Well where there’s a party you can guarantee FYIris to be there…St. Patrick’s Day in New York City is one HELL of a party!
We started off at Penn Station trying to figure out where we should start off with our official Patty’s day Pub Crawl. There were so many people dressed in the green that we just start following the crowd and hoped for the best. First stop was The Barney Rock located on 137 W. 33rd St., After waiting about 20 minutes outside (since the line was down the block to get in) we realized it was well worth the wait. The food portions are GIGANTIC!!! Great eats for a long day of pub crawling and the staff is entirely IRISH! The people that come in have to be one of the most mixed crowds you will ever come by in NYC and everyone was so friendly!. The Blarney Rock is definitely a great stop whenever in the Penn Station/Hell’s Kitchen area!! After a couple of Irish Car Bombs with the local Irishman, the next stop was Mcsorley’s on 15 E. 7th St. (between 2nd & 3rd Ave.) You can expect not to find frilly cocktails here - but this is one of the oldest bars in Manhattan and city classic. A saloon bar with swing-doors, sawdust floors and a long wooden counter, your drinks choice is light or dark ale. The crowd is filled with a mixture of young and rowdy along with the older regulars. Mcsorley’s , to me, was a little to much of an old school party with a frat boy twist…not my style…the best part was that there’s no such thing as buying just one mug you have to buy two mugs BUT its for the price of one. So we decided to grab our killians and out the doors we went continuing the pub crawl! Final Stop was P.J. Clarney’s located on 57th & 7th Ave.
The characters in there reflect everything that categorized New York life! I think this Bar was the Icing on the cake of the entire day! Not only was the Atmosphere really great, the food was wonderful and really hit the spot after a long day! Plus there was a special appearance of some of the Leprechauns that were in the parade! In the end St. Patrick’s Day in the City may be a bit crowded, but always a wonderful time had by all. I think that Ireland knows exactly what there doing when it come to partying…I’m definitely classifying them as “semi- Latino” in the Fiesta tactics!
See ya a la Fiesta!

Author: FYIrisThis weekend, I ran into Ace from G Music Productions in NYC, these guys have come a long way since I last saw them 2 years ago in their Miami studio. Ace & Gamboa, also known as G Music Productions, have been on the grind to establish a name for themselves in the music industry. The recognition slowly started coming when Gamboa, one half of Miami's production duo, placed a track on Pitbull's "El Mariel" album. Continuing to work hard and with one hit record under their belt, G Music Productions has developed a refreshingly new sound that has caught the ears of many artists. The future remains untold for this dynamic duo but by the look of things, these Miami boys are well equipped to takeover the radio airwaves. Listen to the G Music Exclusive and tell me it ain’t hot! I dare ya! http://www.myspace.com/gmusicproduction305
