So I was at The Rapture after party last night on the Eastside (LA).  The first thing that got to me was how we had to stand in line for 30 minutes.  Wait a sec, I thought…we had to RSVP to get into this event!  Yet they made us wait out there for no good reason (it was completely empty inside).  Yeah, the club owners were totally pulling a Hollywood-wait-in-line on us.  Pretty dumb since we definitely were not in glitzy Hollywood.  Anyways, we got in since we were smart enough to get our names on the list…many people were turned away for that mere reason.  So we go in, get some drinks, and head to the dance floor.  Then and there I saw the “celeb” dj known as DJ AM.  Yeah, I think the only reason why I know about him was b/c he was in the tabloids/internet gossip b/c he was dating Nicole Richie (yeah I admit that I know these things!)  His set was OK…just a bunch of mashups.  Seriously I just saw Girl talk at the BPM Anniversary Party at the Avalon just recently, and nothing compares to Girl Talk’s pure mastery (oh and that’s where I danced next to Ms. Hilton herself)!  Back to AM, he was alright as I said, but one thing for sure, people seemed to be dazzled by his presence.  He really did seem like a “celeb” dj with all those people snapping those digital pics at him.  Anyway, The Rapture came and started their set pretty late.  It was alright as well…nothing mind-blowing.  Oh well I’m just happy that I just got to dance and see The Rapture dj for free Wink

This Sunday is Father's Day everyone!  What should you give your dad, or for the ladies, your baby's daddy?  Well my list of 5 things should give you an idea…plus it has everyone's budget in mind

#5 Ipod Nano (starting at $149):

So your dad, grandfather, or husband is getting hip these days.  They are buying 70s classics on iTunes and blogging about their political stance or favorite gadget.  But they are still listening to their outdated CD walkman.  Ipod Nano is where it's at.  It's slim, holds up to 8 gigs of music, and most definitely stylish.  Your dad most likely won't need an 80 gb Ipod so this little gem is perfect to hold their Eric Clapton or Eagles tunes.

#4 Jack Black The Core Collection ($52):

Jack's full size daily shaving and skin care essentials in one complete set. Three core products. One simple solution. Guaranteed to result in clean, healthy skin in five minutes or less—what more could any guy ask for?

    #3 Global Chef's Knife ($88.95)

This 8-in. all-purpose Chef's Knife is Global's most popular knife. Your top choice for slicing large quantities of vegetables, fruit and meat quickly and effectively. Loved by professional chefs around the world, Global knives are an excellent choice for the serious home cook. The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor.  Great for dad showing off his cooking skills!

#2 Hallmark Card (less than $5)

Who doesn't love a card on a very special day devoted to you?  Seriously, a card is huge karma points for anyone who gives them.  Plus, it does NOT dent your wallet.  A handwritten letter works just as well!  Just make sure you express honest, warm, loving thoughts within them.

#1 A HUG!! or phone call if you're far away ($priceless)

A hug or a simple "I love you" is a true way to show that you appreciate the man that contributed to your arrival on this planet.

So Entourage returns for another season June 17th.  It's an interesting show because it's really about the American Dream.  Or actually it's about getting rich quick.  And isn't that what a LOT of Americans dream about?

Anyway, I just read a funny Q&A with the creator.  In it he says he'd kill himself if his kids turned out just like the characters.  As long as the creator keeps money away from his kids' hands,  they won't turn out to be Paris-like socialites…yeah like that would really happen especially when you raise your kids in Hollywood!

You know what's hot?  Saving the world.  Well in Argentina.  More specifically, buying huge chunks of land in Argentina.  So supposedly multi-millionares have been buying up land down in South America.  People like Sly Stallone and Ted Turner have been using Patagonia as their private playground.  But the latest millionare to buy land is the guy who created North Face (that makes sense).  Anyways, he's doing it to save the wetlands that are endangered by commercial agriculture or industrial development (America has been screwed by this).

So buying land to serve your own cause is the way to go for some.  Hopefully more Hollywood hippies get into this trend and maybe buy up the world. That'll solve everything.
