90’sensory overload- I like it like That
Author: Miz ReelThis movie was able to reach me. the one movie that I watched when I was young teen and given me an outlook on relationship, especially the example a real - yet ever so passionate Latino couple.
I'm talking about the movie that was funny and real about Love - well ghetto love.
After 13 years this movie's theme still rings true not only to us caserio (The hood)- love struck Latinos but to all people in the Caribbean (right B Mak?) and all over the states. Maybe even a nook in Germany quien sabe (who knows)?
I know for those of you who watched this underground independent classic, know what I'm talking about
I remember so much from it and I love the soundtrack to it. I like the poetic sense of the story. Even the little bit gritty-not-so-polished-life these character had. It influenced my way of telling a story through video. I'm so grateful that Darnell Martin, the director had vision to put this story together.
In the end the film is greatly moved by Lisette and her overcoming her obstacles from financial, emotional, physical and mental chaos.
"Alexis lend me Alexis lend me" is the unforgettable words from Lisette's um sister. I personally will never forget her/him saying "give me back my tetas!"
This film will take you on a roller coaster of emotions. Definitely track it down and watch it. I think Amazon had it under $10.
Okay, going to take a nap I'm worn out from nostalgia

80’s Rewind: The Secret of My Success
Author: Miz ReelWasn't Michael J Fox so cute… hmm thats not what I really want to talk about.
So this is an inspirational film from the 80's that makes you think if what Brantley (Michael J Fox) did , can really be done? and why would you have an affair with your aunt?? Anyways I thought that it said volumes in the message that 'whatever you put your mind to, you can accomplish.'
The cool thing about the film is that is well choreographed—according to the nice special features of the DVD it was stated that the director Herbert Ross ,who was also a choreographer of film musicals, wanted the film to flow well. That is definitely demonstrated in the way the cuts were set and the interaction between characters. It was as if they were dancing. As a fan of Musicals I appreciated it.
For my Weekly VCR watch I chose this classic MJ- Fox Picture. Get inspired and laugh!

Miz Reel’s Crystal Ball Scenes- Alvin and the Chipmunks
Author: Miz ReelAAAAAAAAAAAAAALVIN!
On April 1st I was minding my own business in Downtown LA,In front of the Central Library. They were decorating the street with Christmas wreaths on the Light Post. I saw a nice 50's style red Chevy convertible driving back and forth on Grand Street. I was like 'cool what the heck are they filming?' so I ask the nice crew dude "Hey what are you shooting?" He says "Alvin and the Chipmunks." I laugh. I look at the other Crew members in the eyes waiting for them to say Ha April fool's!!! but all of them had a straight face and with that I was in shock 'MY goodness they are really making Alvin and the chipmunk movie!'
It is set to release in December 14, I'm so there!
The My Name is Earl Actor Jason Lee is Playing DAVE!
woah! will anyone recognize him?
As one their biggest fans… yeah yeah I know they are squeaky rodents but they had great music they covered and some nice original stuff too. and they were aw so cute before they asked the question which Friends character you are most like or are you Carrie or Samantha, it was which chipmunk are you most like? — hmm I'm like Theodore I like to cook -um eat!
My Crystal ball says this will be a hit with a new generation of kids and for those of us that grew up in the 80's Saturday morning cartoon era. I also see many sequels to follow.
Now I have tarot cards to read for Spidey 4, come back tomorrow…

Author: Miz ReelThe choice of the Weekly VCR Watch is Better Off Dead, or better known as I want my two Dollars!
The reason I bring this movie into the light is because I recently discovered that the film was shot in the small town I live in, and yeah I happened to love cheesy dark comedies! so after 22 years this flick still makes me laugh.
so for those of you that haven't seen this cult classic check it out— John Cusack plays the main character Lane in which he finds creative ways to end his life after his vain girlfriend dumps him for the school jock. The characters in this film are unforgettable.
Like the kamikaze car racers who keep meeting up with him at the traffic light
The Crazed Paper Boy who just wants his 2 dollars
The mad scientist little brother who makes a Space Shuttle out of Household appliances
The Mom who keeps cooking up food that moves
and yeah there is also the Romantic moment between two hamburgers. I promise it will stay in your memory.
Why I really love this film? because I liked how there were sub stories within one story. The director Savage Steve Holland knew how to bring it all the quirky characters and stories together and not lose a beat. To those aspiring directors, I suggest to keep that in mind.
So Back 2007… I'm out of this groovy Blog!

GOOOOOOONIES!
Now this film needs no introduction.
So Heeeey you GUUUUYS! I was watching my dear old pals the Goonies movie this last weekend, and I was thinking 'Man I wish I could get a treasure… the things that I could do, and wouldn't it sweet if they could make a theme park ride out of Goonies or a water park slide'…Yeah admit it, you wanted to be in the lagoon too.

In the Spirit of Treasure hunting with Jack Sparrow
and The hot dreamy and totally fabulous Orlando Bloom…![]()
Watch How the Goonies get the Treasure of One eyed Willy… Aw the memories. The real message though is that you need friends to accomplish a lot. You can't do it alone. Also It shows that the under dogs can go far when desire pushes them. As for At World's End, it said the same thing ALL PIRATES UNITE!
This Goonie Chic is out— ARRRRRRRRRRR!
