  • Un Verano en Nueva York-Hip Hop ‘Stilo

Grita After PartyThere is a little revolution brewing in NYC. Hip-Hop might just get turned on its head.  Headz from all continents and hoods from East to West, have been gathering Hip-hop's cuna and the crossroads of the world, Nueva York.

    Just a little taste…

This is the post-GRITA line-up. I love this picture because it represents the rebirth of something that started a long time ago, somewhere between Havana and Harlem.  Deja hacerles el cuento…

Once upon a time, before "conscious" Hip-Hop was actively pursued as a mainstream market niche, a whole bunch of kids started travelling a la hippy-gitano. Usually, somewhere south of the Mississippi.  It was a rhyme caravan, of sorts- filled with lively characters from all continents. Here, the new generation celebrates the ever rollin' cipher.

[This picture represents a section of the Latin American contingent;  in fact, many a young hustla jumped into this foto for posterity.  Clothiers, MCs, writers, filmmakers and photographers… dancers, hell-raisers par excellence- toditos, bien hipitongo (that's hella hippy, for West Coast readers).]

Check 'em all out, and figure out how such a random bunch got connected.

No es un gran misterio en realidad.
