  • Trannies, Food, Los Angeles at Night….

After a late night gig in Los Angeles, one's tummy can begin to make beats in the tummy. And I am not talking about gas, but rather hunger.  There are two spots I highly recommend.  I have seriously gained 10 lbs (of muscle ladies) and wish to celebrate two spots which have contributed to this.

    Canters Deli

    CANTERS (off Fairfax)

Canters is known for rude oldschool waitress's whom you may have to ask 4 times for a simple refill. You the reader may be thinking "why do you continue to go back? Is it the food?"  The answer is… (drum roll from upground or glory dummer)……… the vibe.  The food is okay. The delight is an oldschool aesthetic that so many Los Angeles eateries lack.  The characters that come through on a Friday or Saturday night, shoot, even on a Tuesday night are straight out of a counter culture poem written by Ginsberg or Burroughs.  Its the spot where outcasts come to read, eat, shoot the shit so to speak.   Did I mention the Kibitz room? Oi Ve! Lots of horrible bands as well as good ones that come through to play in the bar room. The bagel chips with blue cheese is the life of the party along with my diet coke.

This guy might be in line behind you at Los Tacos.

Los Tacos - The Taco Spot off Santa Monica near Fairfax.

Oh my god! No joke i put this on my neighborhood the beans actually remind me of chocolate! The tacos are the bomb.  I could sit in there and just absorb the beauty of those tacos any day.  The only downside to this spot, are the trannies that come through looking they just ran a marathon  Now I have nothing against trannies in general, more power to them, but wow.. sometimes the characters that come through and i just my taste for anything on the plate. Okay by now I have probably ruined any chance of you coming through and enjoying a good taco with me at this spot, but believe me, the food is worth it!   It's a wonderful spot to do your laundry in as well so you can run next door and throw some clothes in the washer then enjoy a good burrito or taco! But at night, its like that Whodini song, "The Freaks Come out at Night" but the song does not tell you they go to West Hollywood to my favorite Mexican food spot!

Well that concludes my post on 2 of Los Angeles's eclectic eateries. There are tons more but due to time constraints these are my top two!  Enjoy your day folks.
