Wilfrido Vargas Inspires Wisin y Yandel

Wisin y Yandel stay reinventing themselves and the Latin urban genre (whatever that is) with their music and music videos. Yet, as every artist they borrow or are at least inspired by previous generations. With WYY’s new single, “Abusadora,” I couldn’t help but reminisce over my parents’ house parties back in the day. One Latin song which was a prerequisite for any house party in the ‘80s was Wilfrido Vargas’ “Abusadora.” Now WYY’s song of the same title isn’t an homage but I’m sure they thought about Wilfrido’s song at least once.
