Ms. Universe, the mother of all beauty pageants, airs this Sunday (8/23). And all I can think of is how our ladies of Model Latina Miami would diversify it. The facts are as blatant as R. Kelly’s recent love affair with the press—Latin American countries tend to send European-looking models to compete in Ms. Universe. Yes, Latinos do have European blood, pero as you and I know we also have indigenous and African roots. Why send an Incan princess to represent Ecuador instead of a traditional Barbie doll?
