Yep, you read the headline correctly. Ken-Y, from the reggaeton duo RKM y Ken-Y, grew up a Bolton fan. Yep, this Michael Bolton. So while rumors circulate about the duo breaking after their next album, The Royalty: Farewell Edition (Edición de Despedida), to pursue solo careers I wouldn’t believe the hype. I mean how is Ken-Y supposed to live without RKM? Check the interview below.
SITV.COM: You guys had a great experience at this year’s Viña del Mar.
Ken-Y: Our participation in Viña del Mar was incredible for our career. We’re very grateful to God and the public for letting us perform in that super-important festival when it celebrated its 50th anniversary. The public let us know they liked our performance. I have to admit we were nervous because we knew that public is so demanding. But we left huge honors and the adoration of the Chilean public.
SITV.COM: Is it true you had an operation?
Ken-Y: It wasn’t a huge operation they just had to operate on my vocal chords. It wasn’t anything serious.
SITV.COM: Since RKM got married has it changed your relationship?
Ken-Y: It’s the same. Yes, he got married but we continue business as usual. Thankfully, it hasn’t affected our career yet. We’ve always worked hard and will continue to do so.
SITV.COM: How did you get the chance to perform for Hillary Clinton last year?
Ken-Y: She was on her campaign trail in Puerto Rico and she invited us to be apart of her closing ceremony. She danced with us for a bit.
SITV.COM: Did Hillary bust a move or bust a hip?
Ken-Y: She has a great attitude and was very pleasant. We respect her very much and admire her career. It was an unforgettable experience; imagine you get to sing to Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton’s wife and they both have contributed so much to our country.
SITV.COM: OK, who are some of your all-time favorite singers?
Ken-Y: Well, Ricardo Montaner and on the English side Michael Bolton. SITV.COM: Wait, Michael Bolton?
Ken-Y: Yes, Michael Bolton. Well, his songs were great and he has an incredible voice…an enviable voice. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to his music. “Tell me how am I supposed to live without you…” you remember that song? Who doesn’t like that song?
