Grammy Museum Honors Fonseca

Let’s face it if you’re a Colombian pop singer you’re never getting out of the immense shadows of Shakira and Juanes. With that said, Fonseca has done pretty good for himself considering he’s got two of the world’s musicians as compatriots. Well, on June 9th The Grammy Museum in L.A. is hosting an exclusive Q&A and performance by the Colombian star. The Latin Grammy-winning artist joins an all-star list of past musicians including Nas, Annie Lennox, Brian Wilson and Tom Morello.

“The fusion of traditional sounds with contemporary song craft throughout Latin America has resulted in some of this decade’s most interesting and appealing Latin pop,” said Ken Luftig Viste, the museum’s chief curator via a press release. “Drawing in particular upon his native Colombia’s vallenato, Fonseca’s confident and warm recordings have proved broadly appealing to audiences throughout the globe, so we’re particularly excited to welcome him as the first Latin artist to appear in conversation and performance at the Museum.”

“Spotlight: Fonseca” starts at 8PM at The Grammy Museum. For more info, call 213.765.6800 or visit Grammymuseum.org. Saludos parcero!
