5 Reasons Jim Jones is Latino
POSTED March, 24 2009 Don’t let his surname fool ya, Jim Jones is as Latino as Cantiflas. According to xxlmag.com, the Dipset Capo is extremely busy today—his major label debut hits stores (Pray IV Reign), he has a court date, has a meet-and-greet with fans and he’ll also be reprising his role in his own play. Coño, if that’s not one reason he’s Latino then my name isn’t Jesús. Plus, he really is half Puerto Rican. Check out the rest.
Uno,
Jesus
1. He Gets the Job Done: J.J. is a tireless worker. He’s got a slew of projects jumping off in one day (see above); call it the 2Pac mentality but I’ll call it his hard-working immigrant sensibility.

2. To Be or Not To Be: Guillermo is getting his John Leguizamo on in his play Hip-Hop Monologes: Inside the Life and Mind of Jim Jones. During the play, Jones attends a Sex Addicts Anonymous class similarly to one of J. Legz’s hit Broadway shows Sexaholix: A Love Story.
3. Family Issues: Like every dysfunctional Latino he’s got a f***ed familia. Fortunately, as of yesterday J.J. publicly (on NYC’s Hot 97FM) asked his brother from another mother, Cam’ron, to put aside BS and work together. If only it were that easy with your trifling cousin Mito.

4. Only God Can Judge Him: He’s a church-going hombre. It’s not his fault he witnesses prostitution, drug dealing, etc. on his way to church. Y que?
5. Hater’s Ball: Let’s be honest all Latinos don’t get along. Similarly, J.J. hit a snag with fellow boricua rapper Tru Life in 2006. He also spat with fellow Caribbean brethren Tony Yayo (from G-Unit). J.J. called Yayo “an immigrant”—simultaneously hating on himself and his Latino peeps. Hate on, player.
