Downtown L.A. Fashion Week Day 1POSTED October, 14 2009  An unusually strong downpour swept into L.A. just in time for Downtown L.A. Fashion Week at the Geffen Contemporary at MOCA yesterday. Emerging designers Phong Hong, Fernanda Carneiro and design duo Jacquetta O'Dell and Leslie Henry (Krys-N-Jack) kicked off the night with tight, detail-oriented Spring 2010 collections. Our Model Latinas were part of the action, doing live mannequin modeling immediately after the Skingraft show. Draped in bright red dresses by Mexican designers Julia y Renata (above), models stood on huge blocks for a whole hour in what looked like 10-inch heels with mismatched beige and red tights. Model Latina Miami finalist Codie Cabral looked like she was born modeling. Other models who rocked were Melissa, Martha, and Model Latina season 1 contestants Linda Moreno and Mishell Livio. Low-key designer Louis Verdad showcased super functional navy blue and white pieces from his Spring 2010 Louver line to end Day 1 of Downtown L.A. fashion week. I taught Jacquetta and Leslie over here in London, UK. They were great students, always pushing the boundaries and being creative. I am so pleased to see them doing well. Congratulations girls!

whoever wrote that last comment is stupid. All of the girls deserved to be in fashion shows or other Model Latina shows. Codie was the favorite from the beginning cuz of her height and looks but personality she is lacking. She is not educated, poorly spoken and never has control of her emotions. Get a grip Codie you are not all that. Christine should have won!!

every one needs to shut up dude, they have codie in the pic cus she is one of the top two and she looked good in the pics, when a scout pics a pro football player out of 100 guys u dont see a bunch of haters like you sayin this and that, codie stood out the most so she got rewarded for it so stop ur crying lates.. ps. codie you rock, keep it up, good luck, i knew you could do it

wtf are they wearing? looks like valentines day gone wrong.Is this a continuation of the Codie show? Even your comments are only positive towards Codie. Other Model latinas were there too!
