But Should She Marry Him?

I wrote about my friend Beth back in January. Not the same girl I wrote about yesterday. The one living with her boyfriend Carlos who she loved, but wasn’t IN love with like her ex-beau Mark.

Well, just a little update on the girl:

She and Carlos continued to date and live their mundane, passion-less life until Carlos finally decided to pop the big question. Then Beth realized she was making a huge mistake. There was no way she wanted to spend the rest of her life with someone that doesn’t make her heart skip a beat. 

Carlos, being the nice guy he is, eventually moved out so that they could take a break. It doesn’t mean that they won’t end up back together in the end, it just means that they can use this time to think clearly about what they want and why. Or better yet, Beth can think about it.

She says that she’s been going on dates lately and you know what? She isn’t too impressed with the available men out there. Hhhmm, sounds like sweet Carlos ain’t too shabby after all.

As for her “soulmate” Mark, well, he’s completely out of the picture now. She hasn’t spoken to him in months and the last time they did talk he said some really mean comments that turned her off.

Go figure. Isn’t it ironic how our minds work? I mean, one minute you think your boyfriend is boring and not right for you…and you want the bad boy. That is, until the bad boy turns out to be a complete asshole, then your sweetheart is the best thing to happen since sliced bread, right?

Well, maybe sometimes all we need is a break to realize just how good our lives…or better yet, love lives really are.
