Love Vice with Jeiry: Cutting The Cord

Dear Jeiry,

I’ve been in love with this guy since forever.  We’ve fucked around but its always been off and on.  Anyway, when I went back to visit my hometown, where he lives, I called and he avoided my calls and text.  I was so fucking pissed, still fucking am, and I’m done. But I’m sure he’ll call me again cuz he always does this.  Do you think I should change my number so he can never call me again?

Dear Cutting The Connection,

You don’t want to spend your Saturday nights hoping your people got your number change memo! You don’t want to rearrange your life over some fool!  Besides, that guy is going to call you, here the: “Sorry the number you have dialed has been changed”, and think: “Damn, I got her good.  She even changed her number because I affect her sooo much.  I’m the man!”  Changing your number shows he has power over your actions and decisions, and no on should have that power but you. So no, don’t change your number.  Instead, be strong and firm, call him up, and tell him you’re done.  I know it may be difficult to tell him this (changing your number is the cowards way out), but it will show him you are serious this time (make sure you are SERIOUS this time!). If he keeps calling and becomes your stalker, then call up your cell phone carrier pronto!  I’m sure you’re friends will understand if you go into temporary hiding.
