Hillary Addresses Crime at Home…

I've been very patiently waiting to see if any of the presidential candidates would talk about crime right here on America soil. Not only talk about the statistics but what plan, if any they had for dealing with them.

Would any of you disagree with me that our society seems to be spiraling downward at such a rapid rate that we'll literally find ourselves living in hell by the end of the year?

After hearing the candidates speak for weeks about the economy, the housing crisis, the state of the health care system, the war and each other... someone finally decided to address the mess we call our streets.

My home girl Hillary, unbeknownst to her didn't let her homeboy (me) down!

At the end of the day when all the dust settles in the deserts of Iraq and Afghanistan I was hoping someone would step to the plate with a bone for the American citizens who are being victimized by domestic terrorists right here at home.

With eight-year-olds now plotting teacher's murders, thirteen-year-olds running the drug trade like Nino Brown in New Jack City and every suburb being turned into the ghetto by little wanna-bees gangsters idolizing their favorite studio wankster I needed to hear a plan.

Hillary unrelieved a $4 billion dollar anti-crime strategy that would address non-violent drug offenders, place 100,000 new officers in high crime locations and assign community-oriented prosecutors in specific neighborhoods who would focus on making a real impact on those communities.

More importantly Hillary would revive programs started by her husband and done away with by the Bush Administration that battle gang violence, drug dealing and gun trafficking all things we are lacking today in the inner-cities.

This one hits near and dear to my heart because I recall being asked if I could come out to Florida to speak to a school in which a fifteen-year-old student was stabbed to death. In the end there was no money to make this trip possible. I wasn't asking to be paid for my time but I personally couldn't afford to fly down there so the trip never happened.

The Bush Administration has placed us in an impossible position where we can't even afford to heal our youth who are suffering with the pain and confusion of losing a friend to violence, at an age no one deserves to die violently.

Hillary wants to bring back after school programs and mentoring programs for at-risk youth. Can anyone tell me what is more important than that?

Or are you all OK with us just abandoning our future... our kids?

I went to research Obama's anti-crime plan and interestingly enough all I could find was a small blurb about a $1 billion dollar budget to start a community policing program. Sounds like an interesting start...

But before I'd ever consider an Obama vote, I need a middle and an end to that plan.

For now I'll remain a fly on the wall observing, researching and studying to find out who truly has what it take to clean this mess up.

Great post! I would like to think viable job opportunities would help a bit, but what do I know? I'm so excited for some of these plans to get working. Hope they get a chance.
