Even Brazilian Cougars Need Condoms
POSTED February, 20 2009 Did you know that Brazil plans on handing out 65 million condoms at Carnival this year? According to an article by The Boston Herald, that’s in addition to the 45 million condoms that they pass out monthly. The country actually plans to spend about $36 million to purchase 1.2 billion condoms for the year…yikes!
My first thought is: aren’t we (the world) in a financial crisis? And even if we weren’t, doesn’t Brazil have some slums to clean up before they spend their money on passing out condoms? Not that AIDS isn’t an important issue, but how about educating your people first?
Anyway, the article also says that Brazil has an aggressive HIV/AIDS campaign (apparently right?) and that church officials have opposed the program (what a surprise).
But get this, the part of the article that really caught my attention—in the past decade, AIDS cases have TRIPLED among women who are 50 and older in Brazil because 70 percent of these Cougars don’t use condoms. WHAT?!
Here’s a quote from one of the ladies, "We senior citizens are still sexually active nowadays, so these types of campaigns are very important," said Ana Leila Goncalves, a 62-year-old grandmother who took part in the event.”
Yes, she is a 62-year-old grandmother. Your eyes didn’t fail you.
I always knew Brazilians were hot, but they don’t stop…past 50? I’m in the wrong country…no wonder all the guys I know, LOVE to visit Brazil. It doesn’t matter what age you are, everyone needs some lovin.
Now it’s just a matter of wrapping up their junk…put a lid on it people and use condoms, otherwise, that’s gonna be a waste of money for the country of Brazil. I mean, can you imagine telling your abuelita to use a condom? Wait, I just got sick…I know, I know, more power to them for getting it on at their ripe old ages, it was just the thought of my grandma, er, new thought new thought…
I can’t imagine it’s easy for an older woman to accept this concept of condoms, especially because they weren’t a huge deal when the ladies were younger. Plus, at this point, they don’t have to worry about unwanted pregnancy (menopause solved that problem), so it’s probably just annoying to use a condom.
But times have changed ladies. Times have changed…and the last thing you need is to tell your grandchildren…or your great grandchildren, that you’re in the hospital because you were irresponsibly sleeping around.

I'm Brazilian and I think it's a great thing our country cares enough to pass out condoms. People need to realize that although we need to do other things most people are solely focused on getting sex and drinking. It's horrible but true. It's great that they do pass out condoms.

I'd hit that. I like old ladies. They are more experienced!

I think that it's great that these ladies have active sex lives. I'm not grossed out by it. We are all going to get old. I do hope that they use the condoms though.
