Model Latinas: Where Are They Now?

While we gear up for the next season of Model Latina (this year it's heating up in Miami!), Chicana Style fills you in on what the lovely ladies from season one have been up to. Hint: a lot!

Jessica Caban: The Model Latina winner scored a modeling contract with Q Management, a feature in Latina Magazine, and has been booking gigs left and right. Cases in point: a five-page fashion spread in DUO magazine; music videos for French rapper Booba and reggaeton artist Veze Skante; an Eden Bridals catalogue; hair mdoel for LOREAL;  a Burlington Coat Factory commercial; LatiNation and Style Network features; fashion show for Kiehls clothing (coming soon to American Apparel); attended the 2009 Do Something Awards with BF Kwame Jackson; and landed a one-year contract with Benzaclin, the latest in acne treatment. Up next: a three-page spread in the Aug/Sep issue of Complex magazine!

Linda Moreno: The sophisticated single mama was the "it" girl in a music video for Los Buitres de Sinaloa’s “No Tengas Miedo."

Belkys Galvez: Shortly after her Model Latina stint, this hot Honduran scored a gig as one of three wild and crazy hosts on our extreme adventure show Adrenalina. As Sí TV's Miami correspondent, she  covered Univision's Premio Lo Nuestro a La Música Latina Awards in Florida and was featured in reggaeton artist Baby Boy's "Ya No Llores (Let Me Love You)" music video (below).

Jessica Perez: The Brooklyn-based Dominicana was featured in Latina magazine's "Real Women" fashion page and won a Fresh Faces contest for street wear site DrJays.com. Check out excerpts from her diary here.

Kristina Rivera: This beautiful boricua rocked the boyfriend jacket in a full-page fashion spread for Latina magazine. Her updated 80s look popped with a bright yellow belt and red suede sandals.

Karina Florez: Criticized on the show for having too strong an accent (I personally loved it), this curvy Colombiana is using it to her advantage. She has two episodes booked on real life dramatization show Necesito una Amiga.

Leyicet Peralta: The half Cuban, half Peruvian princesa was a hair and makeup model in Miami's DUO magazine.

Sasha Cabrera: The half boricua/half Cubana was in a music video for Arcángel (De La Ghetto) with Leyicet and Belkys and has been active in fighting for gay rights.
