Michael Jackson: A Fashion Icon DiesPOSTED June, 25 2009 ![]() This blog is dedicated to one of the greatest entertainers of all time: Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958—June 25, 2009). Despite the molestation allegations and his peculiar lifestyle, there's no denying Michael Jackson is one of the most influential pop culture figures to ever walk this planet. Folks borrowed just as much from Jackson's fashion sense as they did from his music and dance styles. From the polyester bell bottoms, butterfly collared shirts and orangey brown vests he rocked in the 60s with The Jackson 5 to the high water trousers every girl (and guy) wanted to pull off during his "Billie Jean" performances, everyone wanted to dress like the King of Pop. Oh and that glove! Who didn't have the glove?
But let's not forget my all-time favorite trend Jackson sparked: the red leather "Thriller" jacket. It will never go out of style.
I was only 3 years old when Thriller came out, but I distinctly remember secretly kissing the album cover while listening to it on my parent's record player. I was in love with his music and that sexy white suit.
And for the record, "Man in the Mirror" is one of the best songs ever made. We Love You, MJ. Rest in Power.

Michael Jackson is not only a music legend but also a fashion icon. Before his death, he was set to perform a series of concerts in London, which would, if Jackson recovers, get him out of trouble with his debts and put him back on top, and out of need for payday lenders. Michael Jackson was diagnosed in the 90s with vitiligo and lupus.

"I want to love you, PYT!"
I'll be wearing my sequenced glove all weekend in honor of the man (it actually works well for gardening).
