My early Oscar predictions

I know it’s to early to say, but so far here’s what I think.

 I went to see American Gangster and the acting between Denzel Washington and Russell Crow was absolutely outstanding. The story is violent but watching these two guys in action is very entertaining. They are clearly in top of their game and they make it look all to easy. I think both Denzel and Russell are up for the golden statue.

Also in my prediction is Freddie Highmore for August Rush. My only problem with this story was that it had one to many coincidence, but the acting made me believe every second of this story. The entire cast was great but Freddie Highmore definitely outshines and he’s pretty much good at every movie he’s done from Neverland to Willy Wonka...the kid is talented and might just get nominated.

Other Oscar contenders definitely in the race are Benicio Del Toro and Halle Barry for Things we Lost in the Fire. Although the movie is pretty heavy, both Benicio and Halle are pros and what a fantastic job they do here. I’m sure there are more actors I’m leaving out and I’m sure there are more films to come but so far these actors should definitely be considered.
