I am proud to announce that effective immediately I am one of the newest members of the SiTV familia.

For those of you who have not heard of me, my name is Ivan Sanchez and I hail from the land of the lost... The Bronx, New York. I left the block in 1993 after some unfortunate events - real life altering experiences - and I made my way to Virginia Beach, Virginia to find out who I was and what I was placed on this earth to do.

Recently I have authored a book called "Next Stop: Growing up Wild Style in The Bronx." The book is a testimonial to the life I once led and a memorial to those who are no longer here to speak for themselves. It was important to me that my friends did not die in vain and I did the best I could to recount their stories without the glorification seen in Hip Hop videos, video games and movies... There is nothing funny about losing your life on the streets and I've made it my mission to educate the youth of today about the realities of the streets!

I am proud to be the first Puerto Rican signed to a major publishing company (Simon & Schuster) for a memoir based on growing up in New York in the 80's and 90's. I am also proud to be one of the first since Piri Thomas did so in 1967 (40 years ago) to share an honest portrayal of Latino life in Nueva York.

I look forward to sharing my life experiences with all of you right here at SiTV.

MizReel... Thanks for the comment... The way I found myself in VA was simple... My mother had left NY several years earlier... Once my daughter was born and things got hot on the block... I decided it was time to try a new place. It was difficult to leave my home but it was the smartest decision I ever made!
