The Iphone has 99 Problems but I Aint One

Seriously though, I was amazed with this phone User Interface when it first hit the scene, but to quote the lovely N8 “I’m over it”. The latest installment of issues with the phone has hit the fan and it smells repugnant. Rik Farrow an arbitrary Security consultant broadcasts the fairly simple take over. With a few rudimentary commands one can easily access all of your recently modified documents from your Iphone without the need for physical access.

 

Meaning any sensitive information is up for grabs. Contacts, Email, Voicemail, Pictures, Video, Web Browsing history, essentially and literally everything. The infiltration doesn’t stop there though, you can inject just about any application into the Iphone as well. Rik demonstrates the example of a program that records all ambient noise turning the Iphone into a tried and true bugging device even if the phone has the appearance of being off. It seems that only Iphones with a ROM older than 1.1.2 are exposed to this peril, but if they can crack the codes intended to prevent usage through other providers this should be a walk in the park.
