Crackheads Help Stimulate Economy…POSTED May, 07 2008 ![]() I'm confused... I didn't think crackheads went as hard during the 1st of the month... They usually get their state or government sponsored checks from social security, welfare, disability or some other agency... The get-high money is usually enough to last them until the 5th of the month before they have to start stimulating the economy by breaking into cars for Teddy Bears, CD's, GPS systems or my personal favorite Blackberry chargers. What does a crackhead need with a Blackberry charger anyway? Are they emailing in their drug orders now? So I'm back in the Bronx to appear on live TV for the first time ever. I was nervous when the camera's started rolling on "Open," a talk show filmed for BRONXNET (channel 67) out of Lehman College in the Bronx. Besides "looking" nervous I believe I held my own as I spoke about my books impending release and the "What Is Your Next Stop?" campaign I'm working on with April Lee. I left the show feeling accomplished... What do I care if nobody watches channel 67? A few days later I was at Fordham University with Dr. Mark Naison - better known as Notorious PHD - being filmed as part of the oral history of the Bronx for his, "Bronx African-American History Project." Why a Puerto Rican was asked to take part in this oral history I can't say, however when he told me he interviewed Uncle Junior from the Sopranos the week before I said, "I wish you would have called me last week then..." I arrived back in the Bronx pretty late on the night of May 3rd after spending sometime at the powerHouse Arena in Brooklyn with my brother DJ Disco Wiz. My intention was to drive back to Virginia that night but I knew I'd end up like legendary mixtape awards founder Justo Faison who died on a Virginia Highway back in 2005 after falling asleep at the wheel so I chose to stay in New York one more night... Actually I decided to stay for four or five hours to catch a long power nap. When I turned the corner at 4:30 AM I saw the light on in my car and knew immediately that I had been gotten... I shook my head and said, "Damn, they got me..." I pictured the worst as I walked to my car and found the best case scenario.
Although they threw a huge cinderblock through my window damaging the interior of the car, they forgot to steal everything. Here's a list of what they stole: Blackberry charger (this one I bought on Fordham Road for $5.00) Radar Detector (this one I need back - last time I didn't have it I caught two speeding tickets in ten minutes - true story!) Here's a list of what they left in the car & trunk: Two cases full of CD's - I guess they don't like Al B Sure, Mariah Carey or Saintive's Slow Jams Mix 2001. (Value: Priceless) Drakes Cakes - Devil Dogs, Sunny Doodles and Yankee Doodles (Street Value: $15.00 / My Value: Priceless - They don't sell these in Virginia - cake and milk at bedtime baby... It's why I do what I do!) Suit Jacket w/ Digital Camera inside pocket (Combined Store Value: $500.00 / Value of Pictures: Priceless!) Nike Golf Set - with the same Nike Sasquatch 3 Wood that Tiger Woods uses (Store Value: $800.00 / My Value: Worthless - I suck at golf!) Limited Addition Muhammad Ali Adidas (Store Value: $150.00 / My Value - Priceless - I wore them on my first live TV show appearance then changed into my Miami Heat NBA Adidas) The morale of this story is that the crackheads stole $55.00 worth of items from my car and left behind about $1500.00 worth of goods. Whose training these guys? I'll be back to the Bronx in a few weeks. Please spread the word... If you need money to get high please leave a note on my windshield and I'll be happy to give you a few bucks. You did $1,000 worth of damage to my car and took less than $60.00 worth of stuff. Next time... please throw a smaller brick! Thank you for helping to stimulate the economy. I'll be using my stimulus package to repair my ride so I can drive back to the Bronx to tell the youth to stay in school and stay off drugs... What a vicious cycle...
